JUNE 2021 : COVID UPDATE : MASK REQUIREMENTS

JUNE 2021 : COVID UPDATE Marin Rowing will continue to follow state and county guidelines regarding COVID response, which opens Tuesday, June 15 to no Tier requirements!

Below is the specific outline for MRA activities, as determined by the state or county. These will go into effect immediately:

• Masks are no longer required for fully vaccinated individuals while at the boathouse, whether indoor or outdoor.

• Masks are required** for unvaccinated individuals in indoor public settings and businesses.

• MRA Facility opens to full capacity indoors. This includes the erg room and locker rooms.

**Guidance for Businesses (from CDPH):

In indoor settings where masks are required for unvaccinated individuals, businesses may choose the best scenario for the safety of their patrons. The MRA will follow a combination of the following, until we are assured that all members are masked if unvaccinated, and indoors:

1. Through this communication, we are providing this information to all patrons, guests and attendees regarding vaccination requirements, and for the next few days, we are allowing vaccinated individuals to self-attest that they are in compliance prior to entry into the facility. Until we can get everyone on-board with their coach or an office staff member, we are trusting you to make the right decision and wear a mask if you are not vaccinated. There remains a risk of transmission of the virus between unvaccinated members indoors, and outdoors if congregating.

2. We will continue to implement vaccine verification to determine whether individuals are required to wear a mask. The staff will continue to keep track of vaccinated members. If you choose to go maskless while indoors, please be sure your coach is shown your vaccination card. If you do not have a coach, please go to Laura at the front desk, or send a copy of your card to either Sandy or Laura. You are not required to show the card if you choose to remain masked.

3. No person will be prevented from wearing a mask as a condition of participation in any activity. No person will be required to wear a mask indoors unless they are unvaccinated.

4. It remains your choice to share your vaccination information with us or not, but if you plan on being inside the facility with your mask off, you will need to prove your vaccination status. We want to remain as safe as possible for all of you while we also follow the new and open guidelines.

5. Please plan on showing your card, if you have not already, to your coach, Laura, or me.

Allowed Exemptions to Mask Requirements:The following individuals are exempt from wearing masks at all times: • Persons younger than two years old. Very young children must not wear a mask because of the risk of suffocation. • Persons with a medical condition, mental health condition, or disability that prevents wearing a mask. This includes persons with a medical condition for whom wearing a mask could obstruct breathing or who are unconscious, incapacitated, or otherwise unable to remove a mask without assistance. • Persons who are hearing impaired, or communicating with a person who is hearing impaired, where the ability to see the mouth is essential for communication. • Persons for whom wearing a mask would create a risk to the person related to their work, as determined by local, state, or federal regulators or workplace safety guidelines.
