2021 USRowing Masters Nationals
Marin’s Women’s Masters Level A team raced at the 2021 Masters National Championships in Melton Late, Oakridge TN August 12-15th. Racing began Thursday the 12th with the Women’s Open D 2x Heat with Scott and Mispelblom Beyer finishing in third, securing a position in the final later that same day where they finished 6th with a time of 4:08.7. The women’s C 8+ raced in a straight final for a second-place finish with a time of 3:35.01. The D8+ raced in another straight final and finished third with a time of 3:27.9. Marin entered two boats into the C 4X final and finished in third and fifth places with times of 3:38 and 3:53.
Friday races started with the E 4X heat where the Marin quad secured a place in the final later that same day where they finished 3rd overall with a time of 3:39.77. The D 8+ finished third in a straight final with a time of 3:22.69. The C 4+ finished the day with the team’s first gold medal with a time of 3:38.76 in a straight final.
Saturday was the last day of racing for Marin and started with the D 4+ winning their heat and securing a position into the final where they later finished second with a time of 3:48. 02. The E 4+ secured another gold for the squad in a straight final with a time of 3:48.335. The last race of the day was the C 2- where Keller & Eichner finished in second at 3:57.79 and Case & Panko finished 4th with a time of 4:03.
Congratulations to all of the athletes for three days of hard racing, several medals, and 2 trophies won. This regatta marked the last race for coach John Kaitz who has been with Marin on and off since the ’90s.
