Marin Rowing Across The World
This past weekend was quite the weekend for Marin Rowing!
While our programs were representing Marin with pride at the Lake Merced 'Old School Regatta', our advanced level teams were putting on a display at Masters Henley in England, U19 athlete Joely Cherniss raced with Team USA taking 2-gold medals at the CanAmMex (Canada, America, Mexico), and athletes Samantha Smart and Quincy Stone were named to the U19 Junior National Team and will represent Marin at the Junior World Championships in Italy in late July.
Now that's a good weekend!
Advanced Level Men and Women Celebrate Team Marin
Congratulations go out to the Advanced Level teams for an incredible showing at Henley Masters! Marin had 7 entries in the regatta including a WD1x (Jennifer Bowman), WE4+, WD8+, WE8+, ME4+, ME8+, and MD8+. Of these entries, the crews took home FOUR gold medals!
It was an incredible showing by the athletes of Marin, and I couldn't be more proud of these teams and their coaches. The level of racing at Henley is the top of the top. Like HOCR, crews from around the world arrive in Henley-on-Thames to race the best of the best.

Sitting at the base of all of this success and culture is a team of people working together to be the best they can be, and to bring their best to their team each day. With a focus on training smart and rowing (very!) well, this TEAM of Marin athletes, from beginner to advanced, will continue to find satisfaction in their efforts.
Also sitting at the base of this success is our coaching staff, who lead this culture on a daily basis and guide individual athletes to be their best. Thank you to Beginner Level coach Felix Meier, B Level coaches Laurel Johnson and Tom O'Connell, and Advanced Level coaches Rodrigo Rodrigues and Julio Soares for their talent and insight. These too are the best of the best, and we are very lucky to have this high level of skill at Marin. We wouldn't be where we are without them.
